Citizens for Better Brunswick (CFBB) is a grassroots, community-driven nonprofit in Brunswick County, North Carolina. We are dedicated to protecting our environment, promoting transparent local government, advocating for smart land use, and ensuring that Brunswick County residents have a strong voice in the decisions shaping our community’s future.
Who We Are
Founded by Brunswick County residents, CFBB is rooted in the idea that those who call this place home are best equipped to safeguard its future. What began as a small group of neighbors asking questions about unchecked growth and sharing research has grown into an established nonprofit organization devoted to the public interest. We aren’t a branch of any national organization or driven by outside interests – our team is made up of Brunswick County natives and long-time community members working solely for the benefit of our home�. CFBB is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity� and proudly nonpartisan. We operate with a research-driven, fact-based approach, holding ourselves to high standards of transparency and ethics in everything we do.
What We Stand For
Environmental Protection: We champion the conservation of Brunswick County’s natural beauty and resources. From wetlands and waterways to forests and farmland, protecting undeveloped land safeguards our whole community – it helps soak up floodwaters, keeps our creeks and rivers clean, provides wildlife habitat, and preserves the peaceful rural character that defines our county�. By defending our county’s natural heritage now, we ensure a healthier environment for generations to come�.
Transparent Local Government: We advocate for openness and accountability in local governance. CFBB works to put facts in the public’s hands and shine a light on how decisions are made. By researching public records, monitoring development proposals, and sharing information openly, we empower citizens to be informed and active. We believe that government decisions should never be made behind closed doors – our community deserves honesty, clarity, and a real say in the policies that affect our lives.
